Adventures

My favorite trip so far has been to the "Windy City", which I discovered can definitely get windy. I have a friend from Flight Attendant training, Vanessa, who is based in Chicago so we got together and explored the city.
Downtown was really cool and there are so many interesting buildings.

The deep dish pizza at Gino's East was very tasty and filling!

Now...on to another adventure. On one of my trips the windshield cracked right after we landed, so we had to cancel the next flight and fly back unpressurized to SLC. It was fun, cause I got to sit in the flight deck (this is the only time it is ok for flight attendants to sit up there).
Here is a picture of the crack.
Anyway, I am still loving my job. I will love it even more once I get part-time, cause it is really hard being away from my family. I should get part-time by September though! I really need to start taking more pictures of my trips, or at least writing about them. So my goal is to try to post an entry at least once a week...I didn't even think anyone read my blog, but I was recently informed that I need to update it more...so I will try!

First Birthday...warning:picture overload!

Cameron had his first birthday, I can't believe he is already one...I have a one year old and a 2 1/2 year old, I am getting old! His birthday was on a sunday this year, so we let him open presents and have his very own cake that night. He did not like the candle, as you can see from the picture.
Believe it or not he ate the whole cake.

He liked opening the presents!
Morgan even got a dress and matching dress for her baby doll from Grandma!
Two nights later we went to Chuck E. Cheese for a little party. Cameron and Morgan were bothscared of Chuck E. Cheese, but I don't blame them. They had fun on the little rides though and enjoyed the pizza.

Happy first birthday Cameron, we love you sooooo much!

I did it!

I graduated from flight attendant training! I am so excited and happy that all of my hard work paid off. My parents and my sister came to the graduation ceremony and I am so glad they were able to be there to help make it a really special day! I still have to go through a couple days of actual flight training and I start that on Tuesday. I think it will go well. Then I start the wonderful life of a reserve flight attendant, which means I will be on call until I gain more seniority. I hope that I will get to see some of my classmates again, at least in the crew lounge or something.

I also just found out that I got straight A's for the second term in a row. I'm still not sure how I pulled that off with the intense training happening at the same time. But I am quite pleased about it and hopefully I will continue to keep my grades up. Well, I am going to go take advantage of the few days I have left to rest, before work starts up again.

What did I get myself into?

I have had no time to update my blog! I have just been soooo busy! My flight attendant training, which I am not really allowed to talk about, is ten hours long...add on the 45 minutes each way it takes me to drive there...then the homework they give us...then my homework for college...and being a mom for a couple hours...I have ZERO free time!!! So, I will just say that even though it is stressful I am having fun and I think I am going to love this new career. I have met a bunch of fun people and there is a ton of info to learn. A lot of people think flight attendants are just waitresses in the sky, but they really do a lot of work and are truly ready to assist you in case of an emergency situation. Now, hopefully I will make it through training...there are a lot of tests, so I will try my best!

Oh, and my plants have grown more! I will have to get a pic soon. Also, I will post pictures next week of Morgan's dresser that I refinished!

Starting to Grow!

Here are a couple pictures of what my seeds are up to. As you can see, the radishes are sprouting! This is pretty exciting, but I am worried that I didn't plant them deep enough. I will see what happens and if they start looking sad maybe I will transfer them to another container. You can't really tell from this picture, but the cucumbers are also starting to sprout. Anyway, I just wanted to share my excitement with the blogging world!

An attempt at gardening

So I have been known to kill a plant or two...but I really want to have a vegetable garden this year. My grandma had a huge garden in her backyard and I have so many great memories of going out back and picking vegetables and flowers. So, I thought I would give it a shot. I purchased a little greenhouse thing that gets your seeds started while it is cold outside, then I can transfer them outside once it warms up.
I planted green bell peppers, cucumbers, radishes, tomatoes, carrots and cantaloupes (kinda random, I know). Ignore the one cucumber spot, it didn't work out.

Well, now I wait. I will post an update in a week or so...hopefully I will see some little sprouts! Maybe my thumb will turn green after all!

Feelin crafty

So I felt like my house needed a little holiday cheer, since nothing had been done since Christmas (maybe some of the Christmas decorations haven't even been put away yet, but it's just too cold outside to take the lights all down! No you're right, I am just lazy). So I decided it was time to do a little Easter decorating. Problem is I have no Easter decor and I don't have money to buy stuff right now. I was shopping at Target and saw this cute wreath for $20. I thought it was a decent price, but still not the amount I was looking to spend.
Then I went to the Dollar Tree. Usually I don't find too much great stuff here, but I figured it was worth a shot. I found these egg picks for $1 each, so I got three of them in various sizes.
Then I found a willow wreath for $1 (this is not the exact wreath, cause Dollar Tree didn't have it on their website and I didn't take a before pic, but you get the idea). So I thought to myself maybe...just maybe I can use my lower than average craftiness to create an Easter wreath of my own.

and...drum roll please...I present to you my egg wreath. I made it with love, does that count? I added some ribbons I had lying around to give it some extra oomph...is that a word? Anyway, I think it turned out alright...and $4 total is better than $20. I still love you Target.

I put it in front of the mirror on my mantel. I still need to get something to put in the vase, but I am not sure what yet. Any ideas?

I am going to add this to a couple of blog parties, everyone should take a look at all the great ideas! http://www.thethriftyhome.com
